“Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. It is the only thing that ever has.” ~Margaret Mead
We’ve heard from the Senators and Representatives that they take things seriously when they see a whole group of people behind an idea.
The time is now for us to band together and support Senate Bill 68 introduced by Senator Silverstein in January of 2009.
So what can you do to get involved?
Several committees have been formed, but right now we really need help with outreach and fundraising.
If you’d like to join us in making changes and getting hearing aids covered by insurance companies for ALL ages, email us at:

I have been trying for years to get this to happen. Politicians just turned away and said there is nothing they can do… Well lets change that and make them do something. Afterall, most of the kids have not asked to be put in this position. Its a health issue and like anything else, it too needs to be addressed and paid for!!

It is a long over due, there are so many of us using hearing aids, from the age infant all the way to senior citizens. Hearing aid helps people to appreciate sounds they once heard before they lost their hearings, and now can appreciate the sounds again, but they will have to put their money aside just to be able to purchase batteries, hearing aid mold, to get it adjusted/repaired, etc.
I was one who once appreciate using hearing aid back in the 1970’s and have given up because I could not AFFORD to buy BATTERIES that lasted 1.5 day.
I will wear hearing aid again once I have the insurance coverage and affordable batteries that will last more than a week of using hearing aids.
PLEASE support this bill.

For years I was under DHS/DORS, looking for a job. I finally got fitted with the proper hearing aids, and unfortunately, things happened along the way, after several years of attempting to get a job, non came along.
One of my hearing aids went completely “out”. The repair will cost $200.00 with a one year guarantee. SSI does not cover this; and I pray everyday the other one doesn’t go out. I had to have it fined-tuned for the ear that I can best hear out of (the broken hearing aid was meant for that ear). I simply can’t afford it yet, and it certainly would help me out. They are very strong hearing aids, and I wouldn’t hear a thing without them. Well, now I hear half of what you have to say!
I am texting Senator Dubin or calling him to please pass Senate Bill 68. I hope everyone takes the time to do this. Kids should be covered; but I’m 55, and could use the help! I still want to work!

We truly want to thank you for starting this. We are all Deaf and wear hearing aids and some of us wear cochlear implants. We sent our inputs to the legislators with HOPE this orginial SB 68 pass with flying colors. We have told them they can really make a difference for all of us if they support 100 percent behind this bill.
Again, we thank you for taking so much time out of your personal lives to change this.
